Plate redaction
Section titled “Plate redaction”Podiar finds the registration plate in each photo with its own models, on its own servers — no third party is asked to find or read a plate. What happens next is set per showroom:
| Setting | What you get on the finished images |
|---|---|
| Blur | The plate is blurred. This is the default, and recommended. |
| Replace | The plate is replaced with a clean plate panel. In the web dashboard you can set short text to print on it — your dealership name, for example. |
| Off | The plate is left as photographed. |
Change it in the app under Studio → (your showroom) → Plate redaction, or in the dashboard on the showroom’s Branding tab.
Detection is automatic and works on the large majority of photos, but it can miss a plate (for example one that is very dirty, angled away or partly hidden). Check your finished images before publishing, especially if you have switched redaction off.
Your photos
Section titled “Your photos”- Your original photos are stored securely and are never published; only the finished images you choose to share are public.
- Podiar does not use generative AI on your photos. The car is cut out and placed in the room unaltered.
- The app never asks for your location, and photos are captured without location data.
- On phones with AR, the app records how the phone was held for each shot (height, angle, distance) so the room can be matched to it. That contains no image of you, no location and no identifier.
