Offline mode

Forecourts often have patchy signal. Podiar is built so you can keep shooting.

  • Photos are kept on your phone if they can’t be uploaded, and sent automatically when the connection is back. Each photo is retried several times.
  • On the review screen, a photo that is still waiting shows as Uploading until it gets through.
  • During a walk-round you may see Connection trouble — Photos are kept on this phone and sent when the connection is back. Keep walking; the spot is filled when the photo arrives.
  • The capture outlines are built into the app, so lining up the car works with no signal at all.
  • If the app can’t reach Podiar when you start a capture, it falls back to standard stills (Standard stills — could not reach the server): you can still shoot every angle with the outlines.

Rendering happens on Podiar’s servers, so finished images appear once your photos have uploaded.
